Before you order an eBook

To check that you have access to the server, click HERE.

Did it give you server access? No/Yes

So you have server access.

Click HERE to do a download test.

Did the download test work? Yes/ No

So the download test worked OK. Can you open and read the eBook with Adobe Reader version 4 (or later version)? Yes/No

So you can download and read the test eBook OK. In that case it is safe to order an eBook.

If you have already ordered an eBook and you are having problems, you now know what to do about it. Simply follow the procedure from the start but use the real eBook link instead of the test book link.

Make sure you are pasting the complete download page URL into your browser address line correctly. Make sure you are copying your username and password correctly. If you don't succeed, try a different computer, different Internet connection or ask a friend. Be sure to supply him/her with the correct download information, copied and pasted from our email message to you.

If you are having a problem which is not covered here, please read our eBook FAQ page.

If you are about to give up in dispair, you can pay us £1 to email you the eBook but PLEASE make sure that your email is working and that you have at least 2Mb free in your email server. See bottom of the FAQ page.

So it didn't give you server access. In that case you must not order an eBook until you resolve this problem. If you are an AOL user, try downloading and installing the free "Firefox" web browser and use this instead to carry out the test. If it still doesn't work, try a different computer. If that doesn't work, try a different computer with a different Internet connection. If that doesn't work, ask a friend to carry out the test. If that doesn't work, you must not order an ebook. If you have ignored this advice and ordered an eBook anyway, please see the bottom of the eBook FAQ page.

So the download test did not work? In that case you must not order an eBook until you resolve this problem. If that doesn't work, try a different computer with a different Internet connection. If that doesn't work, ask a friend to carry out the test. If that doesn't work, you must not order an ebook. So you downloaded the test book but you can't open and read it in Adobe Reader version 4 (or later version). In that case you must not order an eBook until you resolve this problem. Check that the size of the file you downloaded is correct. For example, if our web page states that it's a 700k file but you only downloaded 70k, you have not downloaded the complete file. Try with a different browser, different computer, different Internet Connection or get a friend to download it.

If the file is the correct size, reinstall Adobe Reader and try again. If that doesn't work, try a different computer. If that doesn't work, the file must have been corrupted during download. Go back to the download test HERE.
